WHAT IT COVERS

  • Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges;
  • How to interact with a person in crisis;
  • How to connect a person with help;
  • Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care.
  • Learn how to respond with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE)

Our Mental Health First Aid course will have 2 parts—the first part is a self-paced online segment that takes 2 – 3 hours.   This has to be completed before the live virtual session.  The second part is live and interactive and is about 7.5 hours (includes breaks).

PLEASE NOTE THAT REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON FRIDAY, MAY 10th, TO ENABLE PARTICIPANTS TO DO THE REQUIRED PREWORK.  IF THE PRE-WORK IS NOT COMPLETED BY THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE COURSE – THE INDIVIDUAL WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO CONTINUE WITH THE ONLINE COURSE.
