Veterinary medicine is still one of the most rewarding and prestigious professions on the face of the planet! That is the way we see it at Get MotiVETed Veterinary Wellbeing Solutions! However, you must have the special key that allows you to unlock and experience the profession in that way. We believe the key to an enjoyable veterinary career is a new undertaking we call Burnout Preparedness.

If we’re honest with ourselves, then we must acknowledge that there are veterinary professionals of all roles who are resenting and/or questioning their choice to go into this field. Some are considering leaving the profession altogether, and some are actually leaving the profession, hence the staffing shortage many of us are experiencing.

In this 50-minute presentation, it is my intention to assure you that you and other members of the veterinary community have made a fine choice to come into veterinary medicine! However, your quality of veterinary experience will be directly correlated to your level and understanding of Burnout P.R.E.P.! You will discover the 4 pillars of P.R.E.P. to help you get clear on your vision of what it takes to create a burnout-free veterinary experience that is fulfilling.

You will also discover tools, strategies, tactics, principles, and frameworks that have the capacity to carry you into a whole new way of experiencing vet med and life.

By the end of this presentation, you will know what it means to be prepared, and you will be inspired and empowered to begin your PREParation now!

• Explain the importance of preparedness as it relates to decreasing burnout and maximizing wellbeing
• Define the acronym P.R.E.P., and list one way each pillar can be cultivated
• Define pseudowellbeing and true wellbeing, and compare and contrast the two
• Create a belief and commitment statement that can be used instantly to get on a fast track of increasing personal and professional wellbeing
• Describe 3-5 strategies/tactics that can be used to immediately to create a more enjoyable and less stressful veterinary experience tomorrow
