MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Sujata Desai, DVM, DACVO

Dr. Sujata Desai grew up in Gainesville, FL, and wanted to be a veterinarian before she could even spell the word. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in 2006, then attended veterinary school at Tufts University in Massachusetts. From 2010-2011, she did a small animal rotating internship at Florida Veterinary Specialists in Tampa, FL, then started her first job as an associate veterinarian at Clairmont Animal Hospital in Decatur, GA. After enjoying six years of serving Atlanta area pets and their families, she seized the opportunity to further her training in her field of interest – Ophthalmology. She did an ophthalmology internship followed by residency training at Tufts University from 2017 – 2021, after which she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Since becoming board certified, Dr. Desai has moved back to the Atlanta Area to provide ophthalmic care to the community she loves by restarting services at the South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center in Fayetteville, GA.
