The session will be interactive, with audience engagement and real-life examples of how to comply and some cases where veterinarians did not. At the end of this session, an attendee should feel comfortable that they understand the basic requirements and changes to the Georgia Veterinary Practice Act.
This event is approved by the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine to offer up to 2 LEAP CE credits.

Short Answer: Veterinarians must obtain two (2) hours of LEAP CE per renewal period. Veterinary Technicians must obtain one (1) hour of LEAP CE per renewal period.
For Veterinarians: In accordance with Rule 700-7-.03 (a)1(i), “Of the thirty (30) hours required, two (2) per renewal period must be acquired in Georgia laws, rules and professionalism, which may be acquired in person or by live, interactive webinars that include measures to ensure active participation throughout the course. Georgia licensees who do not practice in the State of Georgia are not required to meet the two (2) hour requirement in Georgia laws, rules and professionalism.”
For Veterinary Technicians: In accordance with Rule 700-7-.04 (a)1, “Of the ten (10) hours required, one (1) per renewal period must be acquired in Georgia laws, rules and professionalism. Georgia licensees who do not practice in the State of Georgia are not required to meet the one (1) hour requirement in Georgia laws, rules and professionalism.”

Short Answer: Attend the GVMA LEAP CE offerings. The GVMA works directly with the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine to create board-approved CE for all GVMA LEAP CE programs. We only open our events up for registration once they have received approval by the GA State Board of Veterinary Medicine.

The GVMA is the largest provider of CE approved to fulfill Georgia laws, rules and professionalism requirements throughout the state of Georgia. More LEAP CE events will be made available during license renewal years (even years).
The GVMA offers FREE registration for 2 hours of in-person LEAP at physical meetings where GVMA LEAP CE is offered. Limit—one free registration per person.
