Advocate for Action: Veterinary Licenses in GA

We believe the ability to practice veterinary medicine without unnecessary interruptions is crucial for the health of animals, the well-being of the communities we serve, and the safety of our food supply.

We understand the growing concern around the delays in licensing and have been working to address this over the last few months.

Here’s how we’ve been advocating for you:

Attended and represented our members at the bi-monthly State Board meetings,
Sent correspondence in April to the GA State Board of Veterinary Medicine requesting an extension of the current licensing period due to anticipated delays, and
Worked with our lobbyist to communicate the delays in licensing for recent graduates to the Professional Licensing Division directly.

The complexity of this problem transcends the authority of the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine. We are working to escalate this to the legislators who can address this with the Secretary of State’s office and the Professional Licensing Boards Division directly.

But we can’t do it alone.

We are asking you, our members, to contact your legislators to raise awareness and prompt action on resolving the licensing delays affecting veterinary professionals in Georgia.
