Emergency Rules Have Expired

The emergency rule, issued during the COVID-19 Pandemic, allowing for an 18-month VCPR has expired. Please note that the Final Public Health State of Emergency Executive Order expired on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12:00 am. The following veterinary emergency rule states that veterinarians can still have a VCPR of 18 months for 120 days thereafter, which would be October 29, 2021.

Rule 700-8-0.2-.01. Emergency Rule on Unprofessional Conduct. During the State of Emergency regarding COVID-19 and up to 120 days thereafter, Rule 700-8-.01(d)(2)(i)’s requirement that a veterinarian has examined the animal within the last twelve (12) months in order to establish a VCPR shall be extended to a period of eighteen (18) months. The remainder of the rule shall remain in effect.
