In this prestigious role, Dr. Mobini will represent North American interests on the global stage, helping to shape international veterinary standards, policies, and collaborations that impact animal health and welfare worldwide.
A professor of veterinary science at Fort Valley State University, Dr. Mobini brings over 45 years of experience as a veterinarian and educator, with particular expertise in sheep and goat disease prevention, surveillance, and management. His commitment to organized veterinary medicine is well-established—he has served on the GVMA Board of Directors, represented Georgia in the AVMA House of Delegates since 2015, and currently serves on the AVMA Board of Directors representing District IV (Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico).
Dr. Mobini’s international perspective, combined with his deep roots in Georgia veterinary medicine, positions him perfectly to advocate for the needs and innovations of North American veterinarians while fostering global collaboration in the profession.
Dr. Lee Jones Represents District IV on AVMA Board

Dr. Lee Jones’s election to the AVMA Board of Directors as the District IV representative is another tremendous achievement for Georgia’s veterinary community. In this six-year term beginning in July 2026, Dr. Jones will represent the interests of veterinarians across Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico, ensuring that the unique perspectives and needs of our region are heard at the national level.
Dr. Jones’s leadership will be instrumental in addressing the critical challenges facing today’s veterinary profession, including workplace wellness, student debt relief, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and practice ownership opportunities. His connection to Georgia’s veterinary community and his understanding of the region’s specific needs make him an invaluable advocate for District IV veterinarians.
